CATEGORIES AND SECTIONS
CATEGORIES
CAT A : 2 – 5 years old
CAT B : 6 - 8 years old
CAT C: 9 - 11 years old
CAT D: 12 - 14 years old
CAT E : 15 - 17 years old
All categories are according to candidates' month and not year of birth.
Each candidate will apply both to a category and a level according to his studies' level.
SECTIONS
SECT. 1 – 1 open strings piece or One variation and Theme from Twinkle twinkle little star
or Suzuki Allegro (Suzuki Violin School Book 1) + free choice program max. length 5'
SECT 2 – A Menuet by J.S. Bach (Suzuki Book 1) or Suzuki Hunters Chorus (Book 2) or
Bach Suzuki Bourrèe (Book 3) + free choice program max. length 5'
SECT 3 – Vivaldi A minor Concerto op 3 n.6 1st Mov. Or Mollenhauer The boy Paganini (Bars 1-40 only)
or Seitz G Major Concerto nr 2 op 13 3rd Mov + free choice program max. length 10'
SECT 4 – Paganini D major Cantabile or Bach A minor Concerto 1st Mov. Or 1 Movement of a Bach Sonata or Partita+ free choice program max. length 15'

CAT A ,B,C 30,00 Euros
CAT D,E 60,00 Euros
Prizes
Candidates will receive a score in hundredths.
Up to 79/100 Certificate of Merit
From 80 to 84/100 4^ Prize
From 85 to 89/100 3^ Prize
From 90 to 94/100 2^ Prize
From 95 to 97/100 1^ Prize
From 98 to 100/100 1^ Absolute Prize
Each candidate will receive a certificate and a medal.
The winners of 1st,2nd and 3rd prizes of each section with the highest score
will also receive some musical prizes (strings, books, music scores, cases etc)
The winner of the 1st Absolute Prize of the competition will receive a factory violin and
a scholarship of 1000 Euros
The jury will also award a special prize dedicated to Massimo Marin to the candidate who will show the most promising musical personality.
How to apply
Terms of payment will be communicated in November.
In the meantime, for organisational reasons, we ask the candidates to fill out the

ONLINE COMPETITION RULES

Each candidate should send a video Youtube link of her/his performance, either not listed or public, labeled “ Massimo Marin International competition- Name and Surname- Cat/Sect” playing two pieces: one from the mandatory repertoire of his section and the other one freely chosen. In the description the candidate should add the repertoire with composers’ and pieces’ names.

The candidate should be clearly visible and he should play with an accompaniment

From 85 to 89/100 3^ Prize

From 98 to 100/100 1^ Absolute Prize
All participants will receive a certificate
First Prize winners of each section will receive a certificate and a medal
The winner of the 1st Absolute Prize of the competition will also receive
a scholarship of 500 Euros
The organization will also award a special “online category” prize dedicated to Massimo
Marin, with a certificate, to the candidate who will show the most interesting personal
musicality.
